At Liverpool Hope, we pride ourselves in sustaining a friendly community and deliver enriching and stimulating opportunities for students to live and learn across our campuses. With 6,000 students, you develop in small, personable learning environments with top of the art facilities to enhance your studies, allowing you to be recognised and not a number in a crowd. We offer over 330 courses with opportunities to study both single honour and combined honour degrees.

 

Liverpool Hope resides in a vibrant city, a real home from home for Northern Irish students. Liverpool remains the home of the only arts and culture-led Irish festival in the UK, taking place in October every year.

Brief outline of the university’s facilities
  • Hope Park Sports:  gym, a strength and conditioning suite, a sports hall, and outside spaces for hockey, football, rugby and tennis. Hope Park Sports is available for all students to use for a yearly fee of just £25.
  • Health Science Laboratories for nutrition, genomics, cell biology and psychology
  • Gateway Building home to the university student wellbeing and finance support teams.
  • A number of different fields of work including children’s learning, understanding, reading, emotions, and moral behaviour
  • Chapel and prayer rooms are a  place to come for a moment of quiet prayer or come and join others in our daily community prayers. We also have a Prayer Room with ablution facilities, suitable for Muslim prayers.
  • Employability Hub: the careers service is curriculum integrated, but the hub serves to advertise jobs, placements, seek guidance and CV development for students (even for three years after they graduate)
  • Sheppard-Worlock Library is open 24/7 for students during term time and offers a wide range of learning resources and study spaces.
  • Special Collections within the library is available with manuscripts and rare books printed before 1501, along with private presses and limited editions.
  • iMac Studio  with iMacs for students studying graphic design
  • 8 Lecture Theatres suited for all course capacities; up to 287 seats.
  • IT and robotics labs for subjects within the computer science, robotics and engineering specialisms.   
  • THISRadio Station a local radio station for students to use within or outside their studies
  • Fabrication Lab kitted with la ser cutters, 3D printers, a digital stitch machine, a vinyl cutter and wide format paper printer for art students creating work with textiles
  • Capstone Theatre, Liverpool’s International Arts Venue is a fully functioning 260 seated theatre for students and external performers. Also home to Angel Field, Jazz and Milapfest international festivals
  • The Warehouse Theatre is a versatile black box studio space for performing arts
  • Music technology laboratory and recording studio for music and performing art students
  • Cornerstone Gallery is a space for students, staff and artists to display artwork
  • Art Centre with studios for painting, sculpture, wood, ceramics, metal and textiles.

  • Child Psychology Lab suited for those studying a number of different fields of work including children’s learning, understanding, reading, emotions, and moral behaviour.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport, only 15 minutes from Hope Park Campus with a bus route right at the campus doorstep.

 

Student Union activities & societies?
  • Liverpool Hope SU supports student who want to join an existing society or create a new one. A range of our societies include Feminist Society, Good Games Nerd Society, Debate Society, 24Tuesday Dominos Society.
  • Liverpool Hope Irish students also host regular Irish Nights with traditional music, food and ‘good craic.’
  • Liverpool is also home to the only arts and culture-led Irish festival in the UK, taking place in October every year.

  • Women’s GAA - been crowned the British University Ladies champion, 2018.

Access to Hope Scholarship: £3,000 per year during study period

In order to apply you need to meet at least one of our widening participation criteria as detailed on the website with priority given to those students who fall into more than one category. Application to be submitted from website.

Performance Scholarship: £3,000 over period of study.

Students with a talent in Dance, Drama, Music or Sport, who have a portfolio of public performances or have performed at national level, are eligible for this scholarship. Application from website to be submitted.

Music Scholarships

9 fully-funded music scholarship opportunities, which together are worth more than £40,000 representing a wonderful opportunity for any aspiring musician or singer. The nine scholarships are:

Eight vocal or instrument scholarships irrespective of genre (i.e. to include classical, popular and jazz styles)
One joint organ scholarship (together with Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral)

Study Abroad:  Liverpool Hope have over 20 partner universities worldwide from Hong Kong through Europe to America. By studying overseas, you will make friends with people from all around the world and create wonderful memories that last a lifetime. Almost all of our degrees give you the opportunity to study overseas in your second year of study,

Service and Leadership Award (SALA) enhances your university experience, boosts your career prospects and encourages you to develop the necessary skills and abilities needed to succeed in the world of work whilst giving service to community projects.

Global Hope allows staff and students from Hope travel together to project locations (Sri Lanka, India, Brazil) each year, working with partners overseas for three weeks during our summer vacation normally between July and August.

Duke of Edinburgh:  Liverpool Hope has been certified as an awarding body for The Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Gold Award – making it the only University in Liverpool to be named as a Directly Licensed Centre. Student do not need to have completed any Duke of Edinburgh prior.

Placement Years are found with support from the Careers & Employability Service and your academic department, you find and secure a placement that fits your career aims and objectives. All undergraduate courses except Primary Education with QTS, Social Work and Sports Rehabilitation are eligible. Placement Years have reduced fees of £900.

What accommodation is available & what is the average cost?

Liverpool Hope’s on-campus accommodation is guaranteed for first year students. Hope Park and The Creative Campus mostly home first year students whilst Aigburth Park mostly homes second/third, international and postgraduate students.

En-suite and shared accommodation is available, with our variety of halls ranging from £88-126 per week) and is contacted for 37 weeks so students have their room for their whole academic year.
