About Teeside University Teesside University is a friendly, town centre campus in Middlesbrough, located in the heart of North East England. We're within easy reach of city life, the coast and countryside - whatever you like doing, you'll have some great options to feel at home here.
Our central campus means you have easy access to everything you might need as a student – shops, bars, restaurants and green spaces.The university is home to over 18,000 students within a friendly, local community.The North East is an affordable place to live. Facilities Available at Teeside University  We’ve invested more than £275m in our award-winning campus over recent years, but we’re not stopping there. We’re committed to investing an additional £300m up to 2026 to further enhance the experience of all our students. Recent developments include a Student Life building for all student facing services, a new teaching and conference centre, a modernised business school, significant transformation of residential accommodation, new central library facilities and the £22m National Horizons Centre – a biomedical teaching and research facility as the University’s Darlington campus. See our campus transformation 
Closest airport to the university? Travel between Teesside and Northern Ireland is easy and it's not expensive, especially when booked in advance. Most students choose to fly, with flights from Belfast to Teesside Airport (20 minutes’ drive away) and Newcastle Airport (1 hour drive away).
Student Union activities & societies?

Teesside University Students’ Union was awarded the Gold accreditation in the 2017 Best Bar None awards for the quality of our social spaces and licensed premises.

 At Teesside University we have more than 30 sports clubs to get involved in, including rugby, football, powerlifting, snow sports, hockey, boxing and rowing – men’s and women’s teams available. 

There are more than 40 societies with no limit to how many you can join, explore the medieval society, Disney society, dodgeball society or go more mainstream and join a society for your course or subject area.

Scholarships & Bursaries

All first year, full-time, undergraduate students receive an Apple iPad, and keyboard case to use throughout your studies. It’s installed with University software meaning you always have access to what you need. You can keep your iPad once you graduate.

You also receive up to £300 credit to spend on course books or equipment.

What Accommodation is availabe?

All of our accommodation is either on-campus or within a 5 minute walk. We have some of the most affordable University-managed accommodation in the UK and students can choose from a range of options including houses, flats, apartments and en-suite.

 Accommodation is guaranteed for all first years.

Whether you want a lazy day in the country or by the sea, or you’re ready for an adventure, it’s all here. Middlesbrough is less than 30 minutes from some of the most stunning coast and countryside towns and villages.
